Union Berlin defeated Bayer Leverkusen in the German Bundesliga after a 1-1 draw, with goals from midfielder Thomas Müller and goalkeeper Timo Werner.
The match was played on Wednesday night at the Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany, and saw both teams trying to secure their place in the top flight of the Bundesliga.
Müller scored his first goal of the season in the 69th minute, following a long pass by central defender Kasper Hjulström, who then crossed for Müller to slot into the bottom corner of the net.
After Müller's goal, Leverkusen had several chances to equalize, but were unable to find the back of the net.
However, Wolfsburg midfielder Thomas Meier headed in a penalty kick from a corner kick that was awarded to him just before the half-hour mark.
Meier's penalty kick proved crucial as Union Berlin took the lead in the 54th minute, when Müller fired a shot over Leverkusen keeper Christian Pogba.
The two teams continued to battle for points, with both sides looking to build up a lead.
In the second half, Leverkusen began to find the back of the net, scoring through a header from Maximilian Sauerbrunn, and another through a header from Thomas Meier.
Despite Leverkusen's efforts, Union Berlin could not hold onto the lead, and the game ended in a 1-1 draw.
It was a close match, with both teams trying to score and neither side managing to break the deadlock.
The result leaves Union Berlin with a point, while Leverkusen will look to bounce back from this defeat.
