In the first round of the Chinese League of Sport (CSL) competition, Guangzhou Evergrande took the lead in their opening victory over Jiangsu U19 on Sunday afternoon.
The match was played at the Guangzhou Olympic Sports Center and saw Guangzhou Evergrande dominate from start to finish, with their experienced players dominating the game and creating chances for their goal.
The match started off with a strong display by Jiangsu U19, but after half-time, they were unable to maintain their momentum as Guangzhou Evergrande continued to press forward.
Despite this, they managed to score their second goal in the second half through a header from Wu Yanzheng, who had been playing well throughout the game.
Guangzhou Evergrande's victory was a major blow for Jiangsu U19, who will now be looking to bounce back and improve their performance in future matches.
The match also marked the first time that Guangzhou Evergrande have won a league match since the previous season when they defeated Tianjin Dalian in the opening match of the season.
It is expected that Guangzhou Evergrande will continue to perform well in the upcoming rounds of the CSL and aim to secure their place in the top four teams next season.
